ABOUT ME

Born on the island of Hawaii “Big Island”, Waylon wasn’t exactly born on a ranch. Although, that’s been his ultimate dream since he was little. Waylon’s Country Music interest was embedded in him from his parents and their passion for Country Music, hence why the named him after the Legendary Country Artist, Waylon Jennings. From a very young age, Waylon would follow his dad everywhere as Waylon’s dad was a local Country singer and is pretty well known on the Big Island for his George Strait style music and his unique Country voice. Waylon grew up pretty poor as his parents struggled to make ends meet, living in the projects for the first 10 years of his life. Waylon eventually took a strong interest in Rodeo but there was one problem, Rodeo is an expensive sport. When Waylon was 10, his parents bought a piece of land out in the Country and his parents took Waylon and his sister out to a 1 Acre property which was an upgrade in size from the projects. However, one more problem remains. Although his parents finally landed decent jobs, they spent all the money they had on this property. So, the family of 4 lived in a small shack about the size of a large office. No hot water, no electricity and not much to do as a child, it was a struggle. Waylons parents started to build a home of their own from scratch, with the help of some family and friends, they managed to build their first home after 6 months of living in the shack. Slowly by slowly, Waylon’s parents bout him a horse, a saddle and as he got closer to high school, he was ready. Waylon took Rodeo pretty serious until her graduated.
Waylon found himself a studio that he really liked in Nashville and has recorded every song there. This studio stuck out to Waylon as he has done tons of research and tried to seek as much help as possible. He had no luck! Couldn’t find anyone to help. Not knowing where to go and not knowing anyone, Waylon got a tip from a mixing engineer of a studio located in Nashville and were know for doing great work. So, he figured why not. After all, he’s been to many businesses and studios with no luck. Which wasn’t entirely surprising since it was just and the world was recovering from Covid 19. As Waylon drove there thinking he wouldn’t have any luck as usual, it was to his surprise that someone was just locking up the building to leave for the day. Longer story short, that gentleman was very welcoming and took Waylon inside and the rest is history. That gentleman turned out to be a recording and nixing engineer for that studio and has been Waylon’s producer and mixing engineer since. The studio is called Station West, owned by the very well known Luke Wooten and the Waylon’s go to producer is Austin Stanley. Nine songs later and six more in progress, Waylon does not plan to go anywhere else. This is how Waylon feels about this Station West and the people!
